NOTBOARD is owned and operated by Pineapple Ventures LLC ("we", "us", "our"). NOTBOARD helps you discover and join board-game meetups at venues near you. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the NOTBOARD mobile app and this website. Questions? Email privacy@not-board.com.

Information we collect

• Account information — name, username, email, and profile details you add (bio, photo, game preferences, experience level, play times).
• Location information — with your permission, your device's approximate or precise location, used to find game tables near you and calculate how far each one is. You can deny or revoke this anytime; the app still works using a default area.
• Content you create — games you host or join, messages you send, reviews you post, invitations, and the people you follow.
• Usage & device data — app activity, app version, and device identifiers used to operate, secure, and improve the service.

How we use your information

• Show nearby games and calculate distances within the radius you choose.
• Run core features: joining tables, e-tickets, hosting, invitations, messaging, following, and reviews.
• Send notifications you opt into (invites, reminders, follows).
• Keep the service safe, and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse.
• Understand and improve how the app is used.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to track you across other companies' apps or websites. We share limited data only with:

• Service providers who run our infrastructure (hosting, push notifications, analytics) under contract and only as needed.
• Other users, where you choose to make information visible — your public profile, games you host, and reviews you post.
• Authorities, where required by law or to protect safety.

Location, specifically

Location is used only while you are using the app, to power discovery and distance calculations. We do not track your location in the background. You control the permission in your device Settings → Privacy → Location Services and can turn it off at any time.

Your choices and rights

You can edit your profile, revoke location access, and turn off notifications at any time. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data. To delete your account and associated data, use the in-app option (Profile → Settings → Log out / Delete account) or email privacy@not-board.com and we will process it. See our Support page for step-by-step deletion instructions.

Data retention

We keep your information while your account is active, and delete or anonymize it within a reasonable period after you delete your account, unless we are legally required to retain it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your data.

Children

NOTBOARD is intended for adults (17+), because meetups may take place at venues that serve alcohol. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

International users

Your information may be processed in the country where we or our service providers operate. By using NOTBOARD you consent to this processing.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. Material changes will be communicated in the app.
